WORSHIP SERVICES
Sundays at 8 & 10:30AM Service of Holy Communion
During the SUMMER we have one service on Sundays at 9:15AM until Labor Day.
All of our services are family friendly and visitors are always welcome!
Come and join us for worship. Worship is central to our life at Emanuel. It’s where we come and share our joys and struggles with God and each other. In worship we come together in the grace of God revealed in Jesus and find encouragement and lend support to others.
Our Sanctuary is equiped with Air Conditioning during the warm months. Fans and windows are open for cross ventilation as well.
8AM – Worship with Holy Communion
Our 8AM service is a quieter, more contemplative worship. We follow the traditional Lutheran liturgy, but our style is relaxed. Feel free to wear jeans and a t-shirt, or a suit. We want you to be comfortable. Whatever you wear you will be welcomed here.
10:30AM – Worship with Holy Communion
Our 10:30AM worship service follows the same traditional Lutheran liturgy, but contains a bit more music. We use a lot of organ and piano music, but once in a while we break out the drums, guitar, clarinet and the occasional tuba. Our choir will often sing. Just like our early service – please wear your comfortable clothes. You will be welcome.
9:15AM - Sunday school, Confirmation & Choir
We welcome children Pre-kindergarten through 6th grade for Sunday school.
Confirmation at Emanuel is a 3 year program. That usually begins in 7th grade.
Emanuel's choir is open to all.
Coffee Hour is after each service
Enjoy a cup of coffee or a glass of lemonade and meet someone new. This is the time when we get to find out about each other. What happened during the week? What joys and struggles are we experiencing? This is a good, comfortable time when we get to know one another.
Holy Communion
At Emanuel all who seek God are welcome to join us at the Lord’s table for holy communion. Lutherans believe in the real presence of Christ's body and blood in, with and under the bread and wine we share in this holy meal together.
When we gather at the Lord's Table, come down the center aisle. Bread will be distributed by the pastor first. Gluten-free bread is available, just ask. Wine or grape juice will be distributed next in individual cups. Used cups can be placed in baskets on either side of the sanctuary.
Even if you do not wish to receive communion, you are invited to come forward to receive a blessing.
Children
We encourage families to worship together and expect that the "joyful noise" of our worship service will include the sound of babies and young children. We suggest that you allow your child to bring a favorite stuffed animal or other quiet toy. Many parents find that a small supply of Cheerios and a sippy cup come in handy as well.
Children's worship folders and activity bags are available from the ushers. Should children need a "motor break," the parish hall adjacent to the sanctuary has a small play area and a PA system that broadcasts the service.
